I wish I could say these past two months have been the happiest of my life, but they haven't been. Finn has been refusing to eat and acting upset during feedings for a long time now (I just thought he was being really fussy). Shouldn't all babies love to eat? For awhile we thought maybe it was an allergy. So we tried all different types of formulas. But nothing has worked yet. Most days we both end up crying.
My worst fears were confirmed when we went to the doctor today to get him weighed. He tops out at a whopping 5 lbs 14 oz. The doctor thinks he probably has reflux. He is having a real hard time gaining weight because it hurts so bad during his feedings and after them. We fed him this morning at 9 am and he didn't really eat again until 6 pm. He coughs, wheezes and gags constantly. It breaks my heart to see him in so much pain.
His doctor prescribed a medication that will hopefully work. If not we'll try another medication. We pray that something works and that he continues to grow and do well.
On a lighter note, I am so grateful to have a child with such a minor problem. There are so many babies and families out there that struggle a lot more than we are.

he will gain the weight. he is getting so much bigger already. know that we love you guys and are here for the frazier family :)
I feel for you Hils! Brynn had very minor reflux as a baby and even it made eating and sleeping so much harder for us. The good news is one day it was like a switch flipped and it turned off and she never had any problems again. She was 8 weeks old when that happened. p.s. if the med they started him on is prevacid, I still have some left from Brynn and that stuff is EXPENSIVE! So if you want it, it's yours.
Oh Hilary I want to send my love to you Dennen and Finn. I have you in my prayers daily. I will do all I can, if you need me, I still have vacation and I know how to drive to Logan. Sweetie he is and will grow, he will only eat what he will eat and one day he'll sleep on his own.
Love you
Auntie Denise
I'm so sorry to hear how tough it has been. I couldn't believe his weight when I read it. Keep us updated on how he's doing. That has to be so rough.
I wish there was something we could do for you. We are happy to hold and love him if you ever want to go to dinner with your parents... time away, however short can be refreshing. He will get better... parenting will become easier one day soon. I know this is not what you had pictured for him or yourselves, but you are all in good hands... with each other. We keep you in our prayers always.
I'm so sorry...it doesn't really seem fair that you hear about all these people that have babies who sleep and eat perfectly and supposedly have no issues. I remember sort of hating those people because we really struggled with Macie in the beginning. She had all sorts of eating problems, too, and I was the same as you - most days both Macie and I were in tears (several times a day.) It was all worth it for sure, but it was really rough at times. I'll cross my fingers that the medicine will help his little tummy to not hurt so bad. Good luck, and if you ever need to chat about anything, feel free to call or email me.
Oh Hil, I wish there was some way I could help. If I were there I'd gladly take him for walks everyday so you could have a nap or two! What you are going through is HARD. You've got all my love and prayers!
His butt is bad
His eyes are rad
He has a groovy mom and dad
His thumbs are cool
And so’s his drool
He seems to dig his kiddie pool
His precious face
Your frantic pace
He really is an awesome ace
So pat his head
And rock the bed
I’m sure you think you both are dead
Time passes slow
But he will grow
As you adore that littlest toe
Yes, hang in there
And when you dare
It is allowed to cuss and swear
We send our love!!!! and prayers!!!
Please accept the help that people offer...it is good for you (your health)and it is good for them(their blessing for helping).

Oh poor little finn! I know how hard it is to see your baby suffer and feel completely helpless. It's heartbreaking. I hope the medicine works and things improve!
Have you tried seeing a chiropractor who specializes in pediatrics? Mine helped my son with his reflux and daughter with her ear infections.
