More Peru

Here are some more pictures from our trip to Peru. For those of you that didn't know what we were doing there, I'll give you a run down. We left mid July and stayed for a month in a city named Huancayo. It's high in the Andes mountains at about 12,000 feet.

We volunteered through an organization called Expand Peru. There are many government daycares for kids ages 6 months to 4 years, they're called Wawa Wasi's. We would ride in a little mini van that was jam packed for an hour to a village called Visco. Another place where we helped out was in an orphanage for boys ages 7-18.

Dennen and I had a wonderful experience learning about the culture and helping others. We loved the people there, especially the family that we lived with. Nothing else has ever brought me back to reality more than visiting a third world country. Although we have a lot to be grateful for in this country I realized that people are happy because of the relationships they have with others not the material things they have.
