One last post

I've been meaning to do a post for a long time now. I pinky swore (yes, we still do that...) Hilary that I would do one before we left. As a family we've been pretty busy lately. I remember thinking that once I quit my job life was gonna be a big party until we left for Maine but that has not been the case. Luckily, between going through boxes, filling out paperwork, updating vaccinations, getting an apartment, and all the other stuff involved with starting a new phase in life we've been able to do some fun things and spend good, quality time with friends and family. I was lucky to find time to go on a trip to Moab with some buddies from high school. If it wasn't for Chris and Matt, I'm pretty sure I would go biking about once a decade. Between cruising down in a camper, to Matt sliding off a ledge, to "turn-around-Surprise!" pictures, to Chris dominating the world in late night Risk, it was a pretty fun time.

Also, I've been doing some trail running and hiking now that it has been getting warmer. Finn and I attempted to make it up Baldy a few days ago but we called off our summit bid because of the wind. Instead we goofed around in a little meadow and I was able to get some good Finn pictures.

I know this post is getting long but I have to express my appreciation for friends and family. These past months have been emotional and trying for us and I consider myself lucky to be surrounded by so much love and support. We have felt the love of Christ in the innumerable kind acts that seem to stream our way. It has been nice to be in Orem and spend time with people that we hadn't seen consistently while we were in Logan. I know Finn has enjoyed having so much attention while here. We really don't know how he is going to react once we move him away from grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He'll probably be thinking, "Sooooooo, Mom, I've been wondering... When is Grandma going to show up?" As our moving date gets closer (2 days, really???), I kinda wish time would slow down a little bit so we can spend more time with everybody. It makes me realize that you have to take advantage of the time you have with people and make it count. Anyway, we love and appreciate you all (yes, even the internet stranger reading our blog...) and hope, in our own selfish way, that no one moves by the time we make it back to Utah (whenever that may be).
