I've noticed that blogging isn't what it used to be. A lot of friends have quit doing it. Probably because of their busy lives. I want to always try and update ours every now and then because I think it's a good way to keep a record of our family happenings. I also get books made, and I really like having them to look through and I'm sure our kids will as well.
We have tried to get out and do some fun things as a family. Dennen takes Finn biking quite often, and we go on a lot of walks. I think Finn has a hard time because we used to do a lot more. Now it probably seems like we don't do anything and all I do is nurse Margo. Speaking of nursing, if anyone ever says it is easy they are lying! It was a good thing that Finn gave me experience by having me use all the tricks in the book (nipple shield, fenugreek, blessed thistle, pumping, supplemental nursing system, and more things I probably can't think of). At the beginning Margo was a "lazy eater" and wasn't gaining the weight she needed to, so I had to pump every 2 hours (even through the night) and use a supplemental nursing system. Now things are going well and I am so grateful that I'm able to nurse.
It's seems like there is major adjusting that goes on when a new baby joins the household. It took Finn about 2 weeks to learn that he needed to be "gentle" with Margo and not rip her limbs off. Now he is really great with her and I can tell that he loves her so much. He likes to dance for her, and talk to her. Speaking of dancing, Finn is so funny when he dances. He makes me laugh all the time. I'm glad he's here with Margo and me everyday to provide much needed entertainment. He always says, "I love Margo, her is (trying to teach him that "she" is the correct word) so cute!" He also takes baths with her and they both enjoy it. I can tell she loves Finn by how she smiles when he talks to her and looks at her.
Dennen turned 31 on the 17th of this month and was treated with cupcakes and a hamburger. I tried to get Finn to make him a birthday card, but he only wanted to make one for himself. Dennen is an amazing husband and father. I love him more than words can express. And even though we didn't do much for his birthday I know he is happy just being able to spend some time with us.
Margo is coming up on 2 months old! She is such a sweet, pleasant baby. I am so grateful for her. She smiles and coos quite a bit these days and I like watching Finn interact with her. She is a long and lean baby. Her length is around the 75th percentile and her weight is somewhere around the 10th. She goes in for her checkup on December 2nd. I sure hope her weight is okay... She is a really happy and content baby so I'm reassured that she's healthy and fine.
My parents just visited recently and it was so nice to have them here. We had a lot of fun! Finn asked every day if we could have a party (which included a game, dancing, and popcorn). They were also able to be here for Margo's baby blessing, and it was nice to have some family here for that. I also thought it was neat that Margo wore my same blessing dress.
