New lamp

The other day I bought a lamp off ksl. Have you ever bought something you love off of craiglist or ksl? Aren't those sites just the bee's knees? Side-note: have I ever told you how much I love ksl? I love is soooo much! It's like a garage/yard sale all the time without the driving involved and rummaging through people's old stuff. Very efficient. The lamp needed a little tlc, so Dennen helped me sand it and then I spray painted it white. Next I headed off to good ol' Wally World to get a new drum shade for it. I was thinking about recovering the whole shade with fabric and this is a good tutorial if you ever want to, but decided that a little orange trim would suffice.

First, I botched it and tried to glue ribbon on the shade. Problem being that it wasn't cut on the bias so it didn't lay flat on a slightly tapered object. Solution? Bias tape, duh. I used a sponge brush to paint on the tacky glue as I went along and clipped it to hold it.

Da-da-da-daahhhh! I like it much better. I think the built-in table thingy is kinda neat too.

Wow the before and after pic is awesome, you did such a good job. I'm always nervous to make it look a certain way and then I find that I dont like it, ahhh indecisiveness.

I looooove KSL and Craigslist. When we lived in Idaho I think every purchase we ever made was off of craigslist. :) Your lamp turned out awesome!

Yeah, I made the drapes out of an old tapestry that I had.
