Bad habit

Finn is diaper free now except for his naps and bed-time. Although, I have kind of gotten him into a bad habit... Whenever we're out and about he doesn't like to use his portable toilet seat, or public restrooms. There are tons of trees and wooded areas here, even within the city. I'm sure some of you can probably guess what I've started letting Finn do...

That's right, I let him pee on the trees. Even if he says he doesn't need to go, I ask him, "Finn, do you want to pee on a tree?" And believe it or not all of a sudden he has to go. Correct me if I'm wrong. Don't most guys like to pee on things in the outdoors? Finn definitely does. He pees on trees, rocks, bugs, dirt and anything else in the great outdoors. We haven't been caught yet. I think I'd be kind of embarrassed if we were. But not to the extent that I would rather him pee in his pants. People let their dogs pee on everything. How is a toddler any different?

I got Finn a raincoat and boots before we moved because I knew it would be rainy a good proportion of the days here. He has so much fun jumping in the puddles! One of these days we'll have to make some tin-foil boats and sail them down the gutter.

Finn has started doing something that we think is pretty cute. He will get all of his cars, trains, planes, and busses, and line them up in strategic ways. It's interesting to me that as his little 2 year old self is developing, he's starting to organize things. He really likes things a certain way too, and will sometimes get stressed out if his plans aren't working out to his liking. He is also more interested in books now and will tear them all off of his book shelf to go through them.

Way to go on the potty training! I tried with Wake just as he turned two and he had no clue. I hope you are loving your new home. What an adventure!

hahaha the peeing outside is great! We went to 7 peaks last summer, and I remember being distracted with Asher and when I turned around an older lady was cracking up - I looked over and there was my 4 year old child, pants around the ankles, peeing in the middle of a circle of tented areas...yeah. It was humiliating, but it's pretty funny now!! Kids are definitely funny! I hope Maine is AWESOME!!

Boys have all the luck! Being able to pee in a bush would have come in handy lots of times while potty training Macie.

Those pictures of Finn in his raincoat are so dang cute!

Isaac learned this grand habit while we were camping. Thankfully he hasn't started doing it in our yard at home! :) Boys!

Did he line his cars, trains, and planes before the move? If its new... I learned in one of my classes that children process through play... So Finn is just processing y'alls move. It's actually really natural and healthy that he is working through this.
